In Memoriam
Gene Woods
Nov. 24, 2013 - Gene Woods was a PSCUG member and a great friend. He loved Commodore and spent most of his time with photography and his Commodore computers. He loved looking through old issues of LoadStar disks, listening to stereo SID music, and he even cataloged his large collection of camera equipment using a Commodore 64 and The Write Stuff.
Gene suffered from a rapidly attacking disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS for short. It attacks the nerves and prevents the use of muscles.
Even though Gene started losing his motor skills and later became unable to speak, he would still make it to each of our Commodore club meetings. Member Agent Friday created a Commodore 64 program that allowed Gene to communicate with us. By moving a joystick in any direction, Gene was able to "type" messages. It wasn't perfect, but Gene appreciated the effort.
We'll miss having Gene around - he always had interesting things to talk about. And when it came to Commodore, he didn't miss a minute to get involved in the conversation! Rest in peace, Gene.
